EMS Publishers Editor should proficiently seek the views of scholar, authors, reviewers and editorial board members about ways of improving our journal’s practice. Maintenance of reliability and complying with the policy of the publishers/COPE guidelines are the prime responsibilities of the Editor. The relevance of the manuscript according to scientific veracity, research strength and innovative methods has to be determined by the Editor.
Communicating clearly the journal goals and strategies to the EAB(Editorial Advisory Board), author’s, researchers and maintaining regular contacts are the development and promotion of the journal Editor must converge with the terms of policy guidance of the publisher/COPE and shall consummate the tasks bestowed upon with full integrity.
Editor decides that an article is suitable and then it will enter the peer review process, this means double-blind peer-review. Shrewd suggestion to the respective journals for covering relevant and momentous topic by the Editor is cardinal for the journal proliferation. In exceptional cases where the manuscripts remain outstanding which usually a rare case, the Editor may accept at this stage.
If Editor considers that a paper may contain plagiarism or that it might breach another party’s copyright, may be rejections. The reasons for rejection have to be specifically indicated by the Editors and the same will be reverted to the authors. Editors should guide reviewers to cope up with the terms and the policy guidance of the publisher/COPE. The review comments received will be finally directed to the Editor for the final decision with a permissible time span of five days and ten days will be the permissible time span for reviewers to give the comments. Finally, Editor to give final decision is three to five days.
Support and be aware of research into peer review and re-evaluate journal processes in the light of new researches
1. Organize fair and timely Peer review process by incorporating valuable inputs from the responsible Editors and Reviewers.
2. Taking part actively by providing novelistic ideas and suggestions for the improvement of standards of the Journal.
3. Sourcing, reviewing and providing appropriate content for the journal, which reflects leading international research and the latest thinking in the subject area
4. Review relevant papers and write for the journal (editorial, special issues, editorial section) advice on hot topics and future strategy of the journal. Promote the journal to their networks and at conferences.
